MacoopA eG (Maat-Cooperative Africa) is based on the cardinal values ​​of the Maat, which are commonly regarded as the foundation and the decisive factor in the longevity of ancient African cultures (ancient Egypt, Nubia, Meroe, Napata). These values ​​are well documented from ancient Africa and can be briefly summarized in the following keywords:

Maat’s principles can be found in the Ubuntu concept, which has become internationally known as Africa’s canon of values ​​over the past few decades, particularly through the impact of Nelson Mandela. Two important principles play a role in Ubuntu: 1. I am because you are and you are because I am. 2. Every person is the guardian of the other person.

The values ​​of Maat and Ubuntu are the orientation points of Pan-Africanism ‘, and MacoopA eG as a pan-African cooperative contributes to their realization. Pan-Africanism is based on the conviction that Africans and people of African origin, both in the past and in the present, have a common fate in the structure of the global world. Furthermore, there is the conviction that continental Africa cannot exist in the long term without the strong commitment of its diaspora. Conversely, members of the African diaspora can only feel strong and in good hands if they have a strong bond with the mother continent. Pan-Africanism establishes the need for the unity of people of African origin on the basis of cultural unity and common history. It also justifies the need to realize joint projects across national borders in order to keep the shared values ​​alive. Furthermore, MacoopA e.G. on the values ​​of the alternative movement of the common good economy (human dignity, solidarity, justice, sustainability, transparency and codecision) as well as the 17 sustainability goals of the United Nations (Agenda 2030).
